The Collegiate School of Memphis is an independent, private Christian middle and high school in the heart of Memphis., TN Our mission is to prepare young ladies and gentlemen for college success within a highly structured, nurturing, Christian environment. During the 2021-2022 school year, Collegiate will serve over 360 students in grades 6-12.
The primary responsibilities of the Technology Director are outlined below. As a direct report of the Head of School, the Technology Director is expected to model excellence in their leadership throughout the building in working with each constituent. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the Technology Director must be committed to the mission of Collegiate and is expected to go above and beyond to support the school and the mission as is reasonably necessary.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Technology-related education or experience
High functional knowledge of Google Workspace (previously G Suite)
High functional knowledge of Windows, Macs, Chromebooks, and peripherals
High functional knowledge of Audio/Visual systems
Experience in education setting preferred
Strong interest in high-performing urban education

Casts a vision for the department that aligns with an supports the mission of the school
Develop and manage department’s financial resources to align with the vision and mission of the school
Effectively communicates with all stakeholders including but not limited to: vendors, students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Supervise and support the Technology Specialist in their responsibilities.
Perform short-term and long-term troubleshooting
Analyze and solve a variety of hardware, application, and system problems
Aide faculty, staff, and students with technology use
Provide training to scholars, faculty and staff on hardware or software applications
Collaborate on technology development and growth including long and short term technology goals/projects
Install and setup new and/or relocated equipment
Maintain inventory of technology assets
Research equipment and applications under consideration for future use
Setup and run A/V equipment for events
Create and/or edit basic slideshows, videos, and other media for events or promotion
Maintain hardware, software, multiple servers, and networks
Manage user accounts, Google Apps, and the telephone system.
Maintain school website and teacher webpages
Teach a minimum of one (1) technology-related course
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School, including leadership responsibilities within the school
