Dean of Finance & Operations
The Collegiate School of Memphis is an independent, private Christian middle and high school in the heart of Memphis., TN Our mission is to prepare young ladies and gentlemen for college success within a highly structured, nurturing, Christian environment. During the 2021-2022 school year, Collegiate will serve over 360 students in grades 6-12.

An overview of responsibilities of the Dean of Finance and Operations are outlined below. This is not an exhaustive list. As a direct report of the Head of School, the Dean of Finance and Operations is expected to model excellence in their leadership throughout the building in working with each constituent. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the Dean of Finance and Operations must be committed to the mission of Collegiate and is expected to go above and beyond to support the school and the mission as is reasonably necessary.

Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Business Management, Operations, and/or Human Resources education or experience
High functioning knowledge of finance and budgeting
Supervisory or managerial experience preferred
Experience in education setting preferred
Strong interest in high-performing urban education
Commitment to lifelong learning and growth
Strong relationship building capacity
Spanish language fluency preferred

Responsibilities Overview
Oversees the financial stability of the organization including budgeting, procurement, insurance, and banking
Oversees the payroll and benefits of all employees and contracted independent consultants
Reports quarterly financial statements to the board and works with external auditor annually to prepare year-end financial statements and Form 990
With the Bursar, manages student tuition payments and scholarship allocation
With the Head of School assists in all hiring and termination of current and future employees
Maintains employee records
With the Registrar oversees student withdrawal process
Manages contracted janitorial services and contracted building security
Directly oversees the Food Service Director, Administrative Specialist, Facilities Manager, Bursar, and Internship Coordinator and their departments
Maintains relationships with community partner organizations including the Highland Heights Baptist Church and the Avenue
Works with the CSM Executive Committee to oversee all site operations, emergency procedures, and special events
Ad Hoc member of the Board of Directors and attends all quarterly meetings to present financials and record minutes
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School, including leadership responsibilities within the school
