POSITION: District Project Manager

REPORTS TO: Chief of Communications and External Affairs

Overview of the Role

ASD is seeking a District Project Manager to join its dynamic and growing team. Reporting to the Chief of Communications and External Affairs, the right candidate will have a communications background and a results-driven mindset. The candidate will have expertise in leading projects, managing project progress, and adapting work as required. The candidate will assist with the implementation of effective communications, internal and external campaigns, and content development. This position will also support Divisions through scheduling and managing professional development, maintaining appropriate documentation, developing correspondence, and generating surveys and collecting data.

Duties and Responsibilities of the District Project Manager

Specifically, the District Project Manager will, but is not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to ASD department Chiefs
  • Support program development and reporting
  • Assist with management of the ASD’s social networking strategy (social platforms)
  • Provide support for district-wide communications (e.g., website, newsletters, press releases, annual updates, etc.)
  • Manage all ASD constituent/stakeholder contacts and distribution lists
  • Provide support for contracts and procurement
  • Develop relevant reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency of ASD work and progress
  • Print and file paperwork for monitoring processes (forms)
  • Create and mail SPED Documentation to appropriate recipients
  • Manage professional development schedules in the District’s platform/portal and maintain log-in information
  • Answer calls for departments, keeping a log of call details
  • Manage billing, file requests, log collection for departments
  • Upload documents to the District’s Special Education platform, as needed
  • Develop correspondence to stakeholders as needed, (e.g., Non-compliance, Immunizations, etc.)
  • Setup document sharing folders, meetings and artifacts
  • Develop agendas and presentations for various department meetings
  • Generate surveys, collect data, and disseminate to specific departments
  • Assist in managing the district’s annual requirements for federally required meetings (ensuring schools schedule meetings by the deadline and complete and submit all required documentation)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requisite Qualifications of the District Project Manager

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Direct experience in education or communications is preferred
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in project management/administrative work
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet concurrent deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative in resolving problems, and developing and implementing solutions 
  • Demonstrate superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail
  • Extensive successful writing and editing experience (externally focused) 
  • A track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Suite of programs including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
